Source: launch-diag.ru/uploads/chrysler_drb3_adapters_manual.pdfPage 11 Relevant cars: 1998 Talon (SC2 = DRB3 SuperCard2) 1998-2000 Avenger/Sebring Coupe (SC2) 2001-2005 Stratus/Sebring Coupe (ST22) dino2gnt, I wanted to follow up some more on your MMC cable hack. So you borrowed Pin 6 from MMC connector that allowed you to reflash the SBEC3 PCM. Are the CCD-bus pins also there for you? Discussion: what are the other Data pins for? PWM signals?

I don't know that I have ever looked at CCD data on the car, only wired on the bench. The wiring diagrams for the 96-99 Eclipse/Talon non-turbo (2gnt), which should be similar or same as the 96-2000 Avenger and Sebring, show 3, maybe 4 connections to the 12-pin diag connector. nawdu.de/files/97-99EL.pdf On page 127, you can see connections on the B-37 12pin which appears to be the CCD connections as they are marked as twisted-pair. Page 310, you can see the J1962 (B-38) with connections on 7 (SCI), 14 (VSS), 16 (12v), and grounds on 4 and 5. On the same page, you can see the SCI connection going to the 12-pin (B-37).

There is a little confusion because in the DRB3 docs B-37 Pin 25 is labeled EATX-RX, not PCM-RX (B-37 Pin 26). But in the wiring diagram SBEC3 Pin 75 is connected, which is correct.
So if car is manual then: PCM-RX = B-37 Pin 25,
and if automatic then: EATX-RX = B-37 Pin 25, PCM-RX = B-37 Pin 26?

Can you bootstrap the EATX3 unit with the other SCI-RX pin?

None of my fleet of cars have an EATX to bootstrap If I come across an auto in the junkyard in the near future, I will procure one and investigate whether it's bootstrap-able (and, if I am feeling froggy, if it is BDM-able)

So you have two SCI-RX pins and all your cars have manual transmission? What on Earth?
Btw: I'm all done with EATX3 programming, it behaves almost like the SBEC3 (EEPROM access is easier). You don't need to research it for this project's sake.

Good to know, I'll continue to ignore them, then All of my DSMs are manual, but some of them weren't born with a manual trans, they were swapped later. They retain an auto wiring harness, but there is no EATX ecu nor automatic trans in the car. I suppose I could fish the EATX pigtail out of the floorboard and check for continuity to B-37 on whatever wire color... Unfortunately the only natural born manuals I have are '95s that don't use an SBEC3, so that makes it harder to verify.

Ah, here we go: Page 159. These PDFs are as old as the platform they document, and whatever did the initial page scans didn't text-ify some of the data so a text search misses things. In B-37, 25 is SCI-RX, 26 is the EATX, 27 and 28 are the CCD + and -
